Ok, as someone suggested... and as I got quite bored on the stuff that was going on in this section, possible scams etc. I decided to take an action, perhaps a bit harsh one but it should make things safer and "cleaner".

From this point on, normal registered users can not post new threads to Market Place. Meaning, they can not and are not allowed to leave any sale ads etc.

There is a new Paid Subscription giving you the Post New Thread access to Market Place, which means then you are allowed to post new threads. The payment is only nominal to verify the user. 3 USD or 2 EUR / year. (Most of that will go to Paypal, so I am not making money out of this for sure ).
This way we can track the sellers better when needed and there is a smaller chance of scammers posting here - but of course, always be careful on all online sales.

Paid Subscriptions can be found under User CP.

VIP members are automaticly granted access to post threads. Also this Market Place access payment increases your PM box to 500 messages (for normal users it's 50 and for VIP's 1000 at this point).

Then, what do you think... should we divide the Market Place into atleast two sections, FOR SALE and WANT TO BUY sections? So we could allow all registered users to post new threads under WTB but not FS.

PS. If people are trying to post their FS stuff under others threads or under other forums, they will be removed. Scammers will be beaten, if not physicly then at least virtually on all forums we can find!

I am soon going to clean up old threads from this section.

All for sale posts from any other sections than the For Sale section will be just removed. Also posting FS posts to other peoples FS threads will get just removed.

good idea.

i think just a simple things as a person who has 500+ post should be able to post threads for sell (for buy shouldnt matter).

since that proves this person is a active person on this forum and not just any simple loser off the street.

plus after so many posts u can tell if a person is full of it or not

500 was a up in the air number.

god's suggestion seams like it will totally kill the section. since this section did have alot of good sales. we just simply didn't see or read it happen since transactions was done outside the forum or PM.

just my 2 cent

p.s. i dont think a simple vip member ship or paid subscription will detur scrubs. i feel valid recognition is better since the fee they can simply just add into there cost of doing business

Maz, I don't want to encourage people to spam so they can post sales ads. Also, there already was at least two occasions where the guy had like around 100 posts and still people claimed them scammers. It is really difficult to know for sure, but I feel that when at least I can track the peoples PayPal account info (usually credit card.. so real names etc.) it makes them to think twice trying a scam here. And it is after all extra trouble to put out the ads... which they might not feel like doing if they really are full of shyt

maybe just have ALL that post in F/S section have a current PAY-PAL account ??????

Well now they must have a paypal account or atleast a credit card. The 3 dollar payment needs to be done through paypal before anyone can post a new thread -> post a FS ad...
But I think we must allow replying to threads for all registered users, which can be buyers... as they might like to make some questions etc.

It's kinda sad that a few bad apples will ruin it for everyone else. I think the members of this forum will lose the chance at some good deals. I list for sale items on the forums first if no takers then it goes to ebay

it's not the money. but i've been at this off and on for awhile.

i just don't see me sending or paying to use the F/S thread.

if you need to delete my F/S thread , no problem..
